The commodity giveaway was held on Friday, Dec. 31st starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Triangle Freight Building at 1200 Kansas St. We served 83 families with 124 people within those families. It only took about 15 minutes to distribute the food we had. We had a very small allotment this time, and this is the reason we always say, "First come, first served." We apologize for the lack we suffered this time, and we will try and do better in the future.

We would like to thank the following volunteers for their help on Thursday evening and Friday morning when it was so cold: Carrie Durkee & daughter, Joe & Becky Johnson, Jan Luff, Kelly Mason, Shriley Smith, Bonnie Haddock, Becki Waalkes, Rick MacNees, and Ryan & Shana Wade. We also want to thank Butch Wade for the use of the building. These volunteers and the use of the building have been a real blessing so that we can serve the people in Baca County who have a need for this service.

The next commodity giveaway will be Saturday, January 29, 2011 starting at 9 a.m. at the Triangle Freight Building at 1200 Kansas St. The deadline to sign up for this giveaway will be January 21st at 5 p.m. if you have never signed up before. Applications are available on the website: oraflo.com on the index page, click on the Commodity Program, then click on Eligibility form and you can print the form to fill out and mail to Sheila at the address below.
