FLOYD HOUSTON ROBBS
Born January 22, 1927, in Lockney, Texas

Floyd Robbs was the first child born to Milton and Juanita Robbs. He was born in an old house in Lockney, Texas, on a night that poured down rain. When the time came, Milt went out into the rainy darkness to fetch the doctor. The roof on the old house leaked so badly that buckets, pans and bowls were placed everywhere to catch the rain.

That night, Juanita’s bed was moved several times in order to find a dry place to deliver the baby. All turned out well! Milton and Juanita were the proud parents of a healthy baby boy.

Floyd was a very clean little boy. He always made friends easily and kept his friends forever. In school, his grades were top of the class and he did particularly well in math. Of course, Floyd barely tolerated his annoying younger sisters and seemed to view them as a nuisance and a detriment to his social standing.

Floyd played football in high school. This was a bonus for the Robbs family as they had free passes to the football games. He was a very handsome young man and popular in school. Because of his appeal, some of the girls in high school would “butter-up” the Robbs sisters in an attempt to gain an invitation to the Robbs’ home.

After graduation from high school, Floyd Robbs was drafted into the U. S. Army and served in the infantry. He later took advantage of the G.I. bill to attend college. When Floyd attended high school in Plainview, Texas, he met the lovely Rosemary Tarbox and they were married on July 11, 1953. Floyd and Rosemary had two sons: Allen Waldo (B: 4-13-56) and Steven Lynn (B: 8-29-60).

Floyd and Rosemary lived in Wilcox, Arizona, where Floyd is a successful farmer-rancher and a prominent member of the community.
